A Blog Break

Thanks so much for your nice comments about my Cousin Bags! I do so appreciate when you leave me little notes. Tomorrow it will be time to take my cousin bags on the big trip to meet the cousins, so I'll be taking a break for a little over a week.

There will be 4 cousins on this trip. My mother has 1 sister and she has 5 daughters, 4 of which will be traveling with us. And I have one sister. So, the two original sisters and their 6 daughters, makes 8 girls -- and you're probably wondering where could we be going? To Oahu and I'm so excited! I've traveled a bit here and there, but never to Hawaii. All us girls were pretty close growing up and we rarely manage to get together now that we're all grown up and have families of our own. We usually only get together in the little town where our mothers grew up -- we've never actually been on a trip together. So, when Cousin3 called about 5 or 6 months ago and said she had an almost free deal on a condo on Oahu, how could we say no?

Here is a picture of some of us that was taken at an auction/ flea market about 12 years ago:

From l to r: MyDadLovesMeBestSister (PG), Me (don't worry, I don't look like that anymore as I've been through teenage hell), Cousin2, My Mom, Cousin3 (also PG), My Aunt, and My Dad

One of the reasons I'm posting this picture is to show you the incredible deal my aunt found at the auction. She got that wicker laundry basket FULL of vintage aprons for only two dollars. What a deal! You'd never find a deal like that now. Naturally, we had to pose, right there in the middle of the flea market, with our aprons on. Anyway, they're a fun group and I'm really looking forward to us all being together. When we get together, we all play a card game called Hand and Foot in the evenings. It's perfect for visiting and catching up.

Now, if you're easily excitable, you must avert your eyes now. As you know, Lost is filmed on Oahu, so I have great confidence that, at long last, I'll run into Sawyer. So, if you're in Hawaii (and sitemeter tells me that a few of you are), and you see him this week, tell him to meet me here next Friday, high noon. 'Cause really, for a girl who loves fabric AND Lost, what could be hotter than Sawyer fondling fabric???
(Disclaimer: Crappy photoshop job intentional)

Be still my beating heart. As Flibbertygibbet would say, "Breathe in, breathe out". You kids be good while I'm away!
XOXO,
Anna
